Classes run weekly throughout the 2011-2012 school year. Classes run for 18 sessions and are specially designed for elementary school students of all levels, from beginner to budding stars.
The Program
Theatre Horizon will coordinate a weekly after school drama class in your elementary school. Students will learn acting techniques, participate in creative activities that encourage personal growth and teamwork, and work towards presenting a full-scale production of a play by the end of the semester!
Classes are held in the school auditorium and taught by Theatre Horizon's staff of trained and certified drama teachers.
Why
A major element of Theatre Horizon's mission is arts education. We believe that through the arts, children are given tools to grow creatively, both as individuals and as a member of a team.
Theatre Horizon focuses its education program on the idea that active participation in dramatic activities is a way of nurturing imagination, ingenuity, and a love of the arts.
How can my school participate?
Theatre Horizon currently runs clubs in seven area public and private schools. If you are interested in having your school participate in Theatre Horizon's After-School Drama Program, please contact Leigh Mallonee at Leigh@TheatreHorizon.org or call (610) 283-2230.
