Little Shop of Horrors
A Collaboration between
Theatre Horizon and 11th Hour Theatre Company
September 11 - October 4, 2009
Synopsis
Seymour was a meek flower-shop clerk on Skid Row until the day he discovered a mysterious plant with a taste for blood. To win the love of the beautiful Audrey and to escape from his miserable life in the ghetto, he feeds the flower’s deadly appetite…but at what cost? An energetic cast shares the stage with a life-size killer plant designed by puppet-maker Aaron Cromie for this special production. Theatre Horizon teams up with one of Philadelphia’s hottest young companies, 11th Hour Theatre Company, to bring you a cult classic musical like you've never seen it before!
Don't take our word for it: here is what Inquirer theatre critic Howard Shapiro has to say:
"This Little Shop, the fourth I've seen, is like no other, and better than all of them - including the strong 2003 Broadway revival....
Theatre Horizon and 11th Hour Theatre Company have banded together to produce the musical, and they've not only heartily fed the maniacal plant, they've re-seeded and carefully tended the show itself...the show is performed by a knock-'em-dead cast with powerhouse voices, all acting seamlessly through the music as much as singing it."
