Offer a Drama Club at Your School!

Students work as an ensemble to rehearse and perform a 30 minute scripted play! Students meet once a week, after school. They participate in theatre games, improvisation activities, and rehearsals. Skills stressed include creativity, confidence, teamwork, respect, a sense of community, and theatre techniques. Drama Clubs are led by professionals who are active in the Greater Philadelphia theatre community. Drama Club rehearses once per week and concludes with a final performance for family and friends.

“The drama club was a great experience because I got to meet new people and I got to be myself—if I wanted to be goofy or silly that was ok.”
—Drama Club Student (2017)

“Theatre Horizon’s Drama Club has been very inspiring for our students. One of our actors, who was not much of a reader beforehand, became excited about reading by studying her script. Another student who barely spoke in class is now comfortable getting in front of an audience and presenting herself with confidence.”
—Laura Boquist, General Nash Drama Club Parent Coordinator (2016)
